Dr. Kelby Trusty
Dr. Kelby Trusty graduated from the University of Houston, College of Optometry, in 1988. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Oklahoma, a Dean’s List graduate with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology. Prior to establishing a private practice in Denton, Texas, Dr. Trusty was an Optometrist Clinician at the Cataract Eye Institute in Houston, Texas and an optometrist at Cornea Associates of Texas.

In 1991, Dr. Trusty established Total Eyecare & Eyewear Gallery. He has been in private practice in Denton for more the 17 years and has gained extensive experience in primary optometric care, medical management of eye disease, contact lenses and refractive surgery co-management. In addition, Dr. Trusty serves as a Clinical Investigator for Bausch & Lomb and Polymer Technology and as sports vision practitioner for Texas Woman’s University and The University of North Texas.

Dr. Trusty and his wife, Shari, are active in the Aubrey First United Methodist Church and in their community.

Shari Trusty
Total Eyewear & Eyecare Gallery business operations are overseen by Shari Trusty. A former clothing designer and marketing representative, her experience helps give the Gallery an edge in the eyewear marketplace.

I love seeing our patients leave the office excited about their cool new glasses. We work with our customers to help them choose the styles and colors to fit their lifestyle and personality. Our goal is to have customers leave our office feeling great about the way how the look."

Dr. Daniel Shaheen
A graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point, Dr. Shaheen served as an areoscout helicopter pilot in the air cavalry until disabled in 2000. After medical retirement from the military, Dr. Shaheen attended Ohio State University College of Optometry and graduated there in June 2007.

As an intern, Dr. Shaheen studied ocular disease at William Hefner Veteran’s Hospital outside Charlotte, North Carolina. He has been in private practice in Columbus, Ohio and an associate doctor with Boothe Eye Care and Laser Center in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Shaheen is active in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and in the community.

Cindi Ballard
Cindy has been in the optical field for eight years and has worked for Total Eyecare & Eyewear Gallery for two of those years. She is the frame stylist and frame buyer.

“The atmosphere in our workplace is delightful. Dr. Trusty trusts my judgment in the frame gallery and he lets me shine there. He is honest and professional. I have never seen the man angry and I can go to him with any problem that may arise. Of course my favorite part of the job is  the people!

Abby Betzinger
A Lab Technician at Total Eyecare & Eyewear Gallery, Abby wears many hats. She cuts lenses, dispenses glasses, files insurance and handles customer service. She fills in at the front desk and the frames styling desk. “Dr. Trusty is a very caring person. What I like best about working for Dr Trusty is working with people. I also enjoy frame styling our patients.”
